Hanoi-Amsterdam High School Fashion Club combines art, social activities and youth identity

I still remember the first time I saw the members of LaMode Ams during a school performance. When they stepped onto the stage, I didn’t just see clothes or lights, I saw energy. I saw confidence, freedom, and the courage to be unapologetically oneself. It wasn’t only about fashion; it was about identity, and for the first time, I realized how beauty could become a language of liberation.

Right within my school, I decided to seize that opportunity and step into this world. From a student who once quietly admired from afar, I became a member of the LaMode Ams modeling team - a space filled with creativity, acceptance, and voices from all spectrums of gender and expression. In LaMode, everyone is free to be who they are, and that inclusivity has shaped how I view art, not as a frame to fit in, but as a canvas to express truth. Two years later, I had the honor to become President of LaMode Ams, a journey that taught me that fashion can be more than beauty; it can be empathy, courage, and equality in motion.

Since October 2024, I have led over 100 members across 7 teams, creating a two-year strategic plan for the club’s development while organizing three professional model training sessions with coaches from BeU Academy. Each training session was not only a lesson in posture and movement, but a safe space where members could rediscover confidence, self-expression, and the power of community.

Product Manager & Fashion Model - Satirical Photoshoot

As a Production Manager and Model, I led the Satirical Photoshoot project, a series of four conceptual fashion shoots and films produced throughout 2025. Yet behind those vivid frames filled with colors and emotions was a journey defined by persistence and grit.

We faced countless challenges: tight budgets, denied shooting permits, unpredictable weather, and even unsanitary or unsafe locations. There were nights when the entire team stayed up until dawn to secure permissions, negotiate with local authorities, or rebuild plans from scratch simply because the light, the sky, or reality itself wasn’t on our side.

But in those moments of exhaustion and uncertainty, I discovered the true essence of creativity - perseverance. Every obstacle became a lesson in adaptability and composure, a reminder that art is not born out of comfort, but out of courage and conviction.

Those imperfect conditions gave the project its soul, images not refined by convenience, but shaped by effort, teamwork, and belief. When I look back at the final series, I don’t just see fashion; I see collaboration, resilience, and the quiet truth that beauty can bloom even in the most unpredictable places.

Head Organizer - Charity Fashion Campaign “A Loi”

The A Loi charity fashion campaign recycled more than 200 old garments to create new designs for 500 children in the highlands, while also donating 1,000 warm coats and 200 gifts to child patients at the National Children’s Hospital in Hanoi students at Ban Lien Ethnic Boarding School (Lao Cai).

However, that journey was not just about photo shoots or catwalk performances. When working directly with the children and young patients, I realized how many small yet significant challenges there were, from strict hospital regulations and fragile health conditions, to tight, dimly lit spaces that made every interaction and filming session unexpectedly difficult.

In those moments, I understood that fashion was not about displaying beauty, but about empathy and respect. Every shy glance, every quiet smile reminded me that the most important thing was not the perfect outfit or photo, but the feeling of safety, confidence, and simple joy that the project brought to them.

When I saw the children wearing new clothes, created from fabrics that once seemed forgotten, I realized that true beauty lay in rebirth and kindness. A Loi was not just a charity campaign, but a space where fashion became a language of sharing, compassion, and humanity.

General Director, Fashion Show “Cause:unraveled”

When I took on the role of General Director for the Cause:unraveled fashion show in June 2025, the idea was still just a spark, a vague vision of something that could go beyond fashion. I didn’t want it to be just another LaMode production, but a story about the misconceptions of youth, about our restless search for what it truly means to grow up in a world that often feels confusing and unfinished.

For the next three months, our team poured every ounce of time and emotion into preparation, sketching stage plans, shaping ideas, selecting music, and bringing to life four collections, each corresponding to a chapter from the Satirical Photoshoot series. Together, they formed a continuous narrative of adolescence, from temptation to loneliness, from chaos to rediscovery, mirroring the journey we were all living ourselves.

Cause:unraveled was, in every sense, a journey of “unraveling”, both creative and confrontational. We faced countless challenges: sponsorships that fell through, venue costs that exceeded our expectations, members torn between rehearsals and exams. Progress was slow, and at times, painfully uncertain. There were long, tense meetings, moments of disagreement, even pages of written criticism exchanged between members. I remember sleepless nights filled with fear that the seats might be empty, that our months of effort would fade into silence.

Yet somewhere between exhaustion and determination, I began to understand the quiet truth of maturity. It is not about perfection or control, but about facing imperfection, our own, and one another’s, with patience and courage. When the final show opened at the Hanoi Museum, more than 3,000 guests and 100 fashion specialists filled the hall. The applause that night felt like more than recognition, it was release, gratitude, and proof that every tear and sleepless night had built something real.

To me, Cause:unraveled is not just a fashion show. It is a symphony of growth, where egos are refined, where differences find harmony, and where I learned that leadership is not about commanding others, but about understanding, listening, and holding space for them to shine.

NGUYET
VIEN

A project honoring Vietnamese women and reflecting the reality of broken marriages in Vietnam through photography and cinema

Along with my journey at LaMode Ams, I continued to expand my passion for art and modeling through Nguyet Vien, a collective that blends photography, cinema, and storytelling to honor Vietnamese women. For me, it was not only a place to perform, but also a space where I learned to tell stories through my eyes, my movements, and my empathy.

As a Lead Model and Actress, my team and I produced the photoshoot “Nguyet Thoi”, a series that reimagined the portraits of two women in traditional Giao Linh costumes, captured across five historic sites in Northern Vietnam. Through each frame, I could feel the quiet strength of Vietnamese women: graceful yet resilient, soft yet unyielding, always proud of who they are. The project was later exhibited at the Vietnam Women’s Museum, raising 10 million VND for Peaceful House, a shelter supporting over 100 women and children who had experienced gender-based violence.

Venturing into film, I took on the leading role in “Mother Is My Moonlight,” a story that explores maternal love and the silent resilience of a single mother. This role taught me how to act not just with technique, but with truth, to stop performing and start feeling. The film was screened at five high schools across Hanoi, reaching 2,000 live viewers and over 5,000 online audiences.

To me, being a model is not only about expressing beauty, but about transforming stories into emotions and art into a voice. Through Nguyet Vien, I found a deeper sense of purpose in my artistic journey, learning not only how to perform and pose, but how to empathize, understand, and take responsibility for the stories I help bring to life.

DAU AN VIET NAM
BY 9 FASHION SHOW

Fashion show to honor traditional costumes and promote Vietnamese culture and history

At the end of 2024, I had the honor of being selected as the model for “Dau An Viet Nam” (Vietnam Imprint), a fashion show organized by Culture and Development Magazine, under the Vietnam Institute for Culture and Development Studies, at Bao Son Paradise Park. The event celebrated the beauty of traditional Vietnamese costumes and promoted national culture and history through fashion.

Overcoming more than 1,000 candidates, I performed five collections representing distinctive regional identities across Vietnam. Under the bright stage lights, I felt that I was not just wearing costumes, but carrying with me the stories, pride, and spirit of Vietnamese women through generations. Each step was both a performance and a reflection of identity, where tradition met modern expression.

Working alongside the editorial and production team of the magazine, I learned how to shape a cultural story through organization, communication, and stage design. “Vietnam Imprint” was not only a runway experience but also a moment of connection between fashion, heritage, and empathy, reminding me that beauty carries meaning when it honors the people and history behind it.
